Our Mission/Purpose:

The Kade Krusade Inc is organized for charitable non profit purposes*.  We are dedicated to providing financial assistance, goods, and services to the families of children with Congenital Heart Defects or other cardiac issues at John Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, Maryland.  Our goal is to reduce the financial and emotional strains and burdens on a family, so their sole focus can be where it needs to be ...on their sick child.

What We Do

The Kade Krusade Inc raises funds to provide goods and services to the Johns Hopkins University's Pediatric Family Emergency Fund.  

Families of cardiac children face one of the most exhausting, frightening, and difficult times of their lives as they hang onto every shred of hope for their baby or small child.

Contributions to the Kade Krusade help to relieve those families' concerns by offering assistance in some of the following ways:

• Parking coupons
  
• Gas cards
  
• Cab fares
• Grocery/Restaurant cards
• Retail gift cards
• Subway/cafeteria vouchers
• Phone cards, etc.
• Assistance with living expenses
• Help with funeral expenses if the family cannot afford a proper burial for their child whose heart could not be repaired.

This assistance is available to families in dire need and families with minimal resources.*

*Qualifying families will have to identify a financial hardship and meet the criteria of The Social Work Department and The Administrative Manager of the Pediatric Cardiology Division at Johns Hopkins.  Each Family/Need will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.  Upon approval, funds will be disbursed to the third party involved, example: BGE, JHU-for Parking passes, landlord, bank, funeral home, etc.

  In 2007, a Swim-a-Thon was held at Towson Golf and Country Club in honor of Kade.  That event raised $16,000 for this fund.  In 2009, that money was depleted.  That was the reason we started The Kade Krusade ...to keep funds in that account to help families.

In 2010, (with The Kade Krusade's fundraising efforts) this fund proudly serviced 6 Hopkins' families in need.  With your help, we hope to help 12-15 families this year.

We do not want the families worried about anything other than their child during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

On July 6, 2011 The Kade Krusade proudly presented Johns Hopkins Pediatric Cardiology the following items for their families in need:

~A huge box of Fun and Silly Hats (60+) donated by BELLA VITA Gourmet/Wine Bags.  These hats will surely brighten a sick child's day. They will be used in the outpatient and inpatient centers.

~TWELVE- $25.00 BP Gift Cards for GAS donated by Carroll Independent Fuel.  A definate need for any family these days.

~$25.00 BJ's Gift Card-donated by the Aberdeen BJ's Location

~$30.00 Gift Card to Ropewalk Tavern in Federal Hill donated by The Taylor Family

~$50.00 Gift Card to By The Docks Restaurant donated by The Taylor Family.

Thank you Raymond Brown and The Fallston Club Crew for another AMAZING event.  The pool and grounds were in stellar shape AGAIN. Everything was absolutely perfect!  (We could have used a little sunshine though.)  But your  hard work made us feel that we were on our own private island!  Thanks again.

We also teamed up with Hayden's Heroes for a BOOK DRIVE.  With your generous donations, we helped Hayden's Heroes get closer to their goal of putting a new book in every child's hand in the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.  We delivered 5 LARGE shopping bags of NEW books to JHCC.

Ashley, one of Kade's former babysitters, now has 2 beautiful children of her own. 

Ashley's father's company,                 THE MARKSMEN COMPANY in Baltimore, recently donated a SECOND check for $1,000.00 to The Kade Krusade. 

They originally donated $1,000.00 in May 2011and we just received another one in December!

Thank you Marksmen Company, Mark and Kelly Miller... and Ashley too!  She played such a huge role in Kade's humble beginnings.
